Sicklines just posted a photo of a dirtbike that someone made using MTB components. The wheel set, fork, brakes, swingarm and a bunch of other components are all off of a downhill bike. Beyond that they didn't offer up too much information.

To me this seems like a really expensive way to make an unsafe motorcycle, but thats just my opinion.
